 1. The main purpose of this Law is to implement State protection measures in respect of persons subject to State protection.

2. The main objectives of this Law are:

1) fulfilling the obligations of the State to ensure the safety of its citizens in connection with their participation in criminal proceedings;

2) ensuring the effective functioning of the system of state authorities in the field of ensuring the safety of protected persons;

3) definition of security measures applied to protected persons.

3. The basic principles of this Law are:

1) legality;

2) respect for the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of man and citizen;

3) priority of the rights and legitimate interests of the protected person's personality;

4) mutual responsibility of protected persons and bodies providing state protection.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 5, 2000 No. 72.

This Law establishes a system of State measures to protect the life, health, property, legitimate rights, and interests of persons participating in criminal proceedings, their family members, and close relatives, and to ensure their safety in order to prevent unlawful interference in criminal proceedings.
